10:15 a.m.
today:

ducklings in the parking lot
a mother and her followers
crossing the asphalt

and the white Chevy van
stops
and all the shoppers
stop
and all the work
stops
all of our plans for the day
suspended
all of our differences
forgotten

every one looking
every one watching out
guarding
a mother and her ducklings

I was there; I saw it
this isn't a children's story
it's better - it's true

Next time one people
fights another
anywhere in the world
let's forget planes
forget the army
let's not dispatch any ships

let us send in ducklings
