108: People tell me that my poetry/reminds them of Rumi...

People tell me that my poetry

reminds them of Rumi

Or they tell me,

“When you read

you sound like Naomi Nye”

or they compare

some other aspect of my poetry

to some one else

I may of may not have heard of.

“Yes,”

I tell them,

“We share the same soul,

I have it tonight.”

I think I share a soul

with 10 or 20 others now.

It doesn’t matter whether it is true

or not

this is how poetry is

Poems are just words

Words just vibrations of language,

these Vibrations

          merely wind

the divine breath

we all steal from

          with good intentions

eager to hear how it sounds

as words, as poems

until they resonate:

yes,

          Yes!
