115: It’s one of those days/that I want to know the...

It’s one of those days

that I want to know the

true name of everything

and not acquiesce to

the familiar shackles

we have bound all we know to our scenery of words

when I call out

           “Tree!”

           the tree pays no attention

I want to speak the native tongue

of all things,

want to call out

and have them turn in recognition

These words we use

They are not the things we speak of

They are words

and to know the word

is not to know the thing

hiding behind it

Our knowing of things is a faerie tale

like the conspiracy of diamonds having value

There are no true words.
