117: Why do these poems/keep raising my voice to you?...

Why do these poems

keep raising my voice to you?

Even after all these words,

we’ve hardly spoken

It’s all these invisible walls

we deny having built

but they are not even lines in the sand

As I write this

the steam of my tea rises

it needs no reason for doing this

it is we who look for reasons when

none are necessary

          these poems raise my voice

          yet we remain silent

No words stir us more

than the ones we never say.
