118: I want to say something to you/without words...

I want to say something to you

          without words

but slowly, slowly

not everyone will jump

into the shock of cold water

preferring to enter slowly

slowly giving their

self up to the buoyancy

I’m out in the current

Look and you will see

I’m not trying to

drag you in

or splash you

In the stillness of these moments

I hold my hand out

to either

          offer it for balance

if you want to climb out of

the world and swim with me

or

for me to take yours instead

         if you extend it

so I might climb out to you

When we are that close

I’ll tell you what I can’t say

with these words.
