We neglect to mention

the backs of our hearts

 

This is our darkest privacy

where we grow all our secrets

and put all the things

we can not say

 

It was in the back of my heart

where all this loving you started.

It was so quiet

I didn’t even know about it

until it opened itself wide

 

Now all your light is so surprising

my love is blinking its eyes

and inviting you into

the place we never say.

 

In here we can create

our own organic jewel

like the oyster

at the bottom of the ocean.
