148: There is no poem/that can say the...
Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 8:10AM There is no poem
that can say the
loss of your leaving
Your going is an earthquake!
One of the huge plates
that supports us will
shift
suddenly
and everything will change
No matter how gentle you are
we will have to rebuild everything
If you were a tree
you’d be the greatest tree to know
Your seeds are everywhere!
I know that some of you
(your touch, your strength)
will remain here as embryos
inside me, inside so many others
I hope my soil is fertile and it grows
I hope they all grow
When some one asks you
how many siblings you have
or if you have any children
First count all of those
you’ve touched here
and tell them three times or
three hundred times that many
or more
Everyone you’ve touched has touched
at least countless others
and has carried you with their touching
before you go
please try to tell me:
How does it feel to be immortal?
