155: If you found/the very top of the world...

If you found

the very top of the world

where would you go from there?

Below all the dead living would

desperately call out

to be resurrected with fire

How could you endure the cacophony?

at the very top of the world

there is nothing you have ever known

this rambling of mine could never say it

there is no language to describe

the perfect disintegration of all distinctions

           What wall could you endure?

at the very top of the world

you could only turn back to all this non-living

to all of our gravity pulling you down

to all this double-weightedness which

makes us do secure we

can scarcely move

Could you live your life as a statue?

all of our excitement and adrenaline

that makes us feel so truly alive

is only a tear drop vibration

quaking the foundations

of our mighty gossamer—

we build with toothpicks and

dream we can build

to the very top of the world

at the very top of the world

there is no view

there is nothing to see

there are no steps leading there

no way I can take you, or show you—

no ground to stand on

no individual has ever been there

no way at all that you can be there

at the very top of the world

there is only the beloved
