We go to places of great natural beauty

and you just sit with your eyes closed

 

Ten minutes from a place we often talk about going to

you turn to avoid it, you turn to go home

back to the same four walls and the known

back to scheduled predictability

 

You turn to go back as

my mouth still hangs open

having just let go of the word,

“explore.”
