186: Most of my poems are about the same thing/and most of them aren’t even very good...

Most of my poems are about the same thing

and most of them aren’t even very good

I know

I’m sorry

But it’s because I’m obsessed with

this saying of things that can’t be said

I’ve got this grail-quest on my brain

under my skin

attached to my soul

And I’m not Lancelot, I’m no Galahad

I’m not brave enough

I’m not pure enough

to ever be worthy enough

to find god with religion

poetry without words

the IT without jazz

but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop searching

when you’ve been handed a quest

you don’t stop because of feelings of inadequacy

or because you’re pissing people off

(in fact if you’re pissing people off

you’re probably on the right path)

once you begin the searching of your life

you keep on searching

and you better tear yourself apart before you stop

and this is my way of searching

these pitiful words and these shitty poems

and I am sorry

I am

but get used to it

‘cause I don’t ever expect to get it right.
