The first time I saw you

I couldn’t believe you were real

          I couldn’t believe you were real!

And I immediately wanted to embrace you

to take you into my arms

to feel you in my arms

so that I’d know you were real

And immediately I wanted to kiss you

to seal our lips together and

form some kind of infinite

so I’d know that you were real

But instead I’ve waited a year to reveal

all these feelings I feel for you,

but now we’ve spoken and I know

that you are real

I’ve kissed your hand and I know

that you are real

and even though you’re not the end-all

be-all angel I romantically fantasized

I want you to know that it is you

that I want

          to say the words

                     that make my eyes

close
