Every once in a while you find something
bigger than you are
bigger than you can be,
and even if you can expand and stretch
you know there’s no way it can fit
inside you, but at the same time
you know (some how) it is going to have to
come out of you and into the world
because it’s screaming to be born
You know it will burst through you
in an explosion if you (some how) don’t find
a way to give it existence—
even if it’s just for a fleeting microsecond, but
it just has to BE
it’s not calling out to you
it’s a shouting screaming cacophony
yelling: Make Me Be! Make Me Be!
Make me be or I’ll Fucking destroy you!
And it’s not enough to merely write it down
you have to give it voice
it’s not alive until you give it voice
it wants to be heard so it can infect others
so it can spread to every one
it wants to be heard because it knows
the voice is more powerful than the page!
And so I just hope I get this right
it’s been after me for a while now
and it’s calling for me to let it out tonight
and I really don’t have a choice
because it is possessing me so it can speak
I’ll try to not resist…
