222: Jen yells:/“field trip”...

Jen yells:

          “field trip”

and I call “shotgun”

and we’re driving down some street

taking us from Queen Anne Hill

to the U-district with

Save Ferris on the CD player

we go by the Erotic Bakery

next to the Sacred Tattoo parlor

nothing is better than

crusin’ to good driving music

with Venus nipple truffles

from the Erotic Bakery

and Jen misses the green

because she was driving too slow

so at the light we collect research data

cars drive past us

through the intersection and

Jen calls out their cellular status:

phone, no phone, phone, phone, no phone, Limo(?!)…

and all I have to do is

write all the poetry down

the funniest thing that happened

to me today was carrying out

an elaborate joke

yelling out the car window

and I would tell you all about it

(including the frat boy with a death wish)

but you just had to be there, so

next time get in the car when

Jen yells “field trip”

we’ll cruise by the Erotic Bakery
