I heard you this morning at dawn

talking to me through the thick glass

with your sunrise (saying:)

          “you ain’t seen spin yet boy,

           today I’m going to spin you.”

good morning city

I saw you today as the world

was talking to me

while I was walking down your

5 a.m. empty streets

Scott stopped at a green light

to talk to me

he was wondering where I was going

and offered me some cocaine

so thank you world

for whispering to me

and telling me that you were

going to fling me about today

thank you city for

deserted streets and

chance meetings at 5 a.m.
