I’ve been without you for so long but

there still sings a seed of you

whispering in my ear just

louder than the ringing

of the silence which

has surrounded me for so long

 

O! You are so tiny

when I compare you

to my memories

There’s no way you could fit

into my life now

 

I’ve been wrong about so many things

it doesn’t surprise me

to find out now that

all we heard were

other songs we wanted to hear

 

we never listened to the quiet ringing of us

 

the quiet ringing of us where

this small seed came from

to sing to me so

I would know

 

I’ve been wrong about everything
