234: I wake up in a new/year with no pain in my head...

I wake up in a new

year with no pain in my head

late in the morning on another

foggy day in San Francisco

Old Springsteen song in my head

as I rub sleep out of my eyes and

I wonder if poetry is

happening or am I just

trying to make this a significant

          moment

Get up

          pee

                     and

sit down

at the breakfast table to

write my daily poem

So this is how another year feels:

Hunger,

Eye Gook,

and Waiting to go away

Travel away on Springsteen’s

Thunder Road

looking for something new

          something that isn’t part of the show
