238: Where can we shout (our) poems to the stars?/I can’t think of one place...

Where can we shout (our) poems to the stars?

I can’t think of one place

let’s try everywhere

Everywhere

like the man who sings to no radio

walking down the street,

sings to no radio waiting for the train

O! to sing, to sing

and for the song to be everything

O! I know why the wolves howl

I know why the coyotes cry

The early bird isn’t waiting for the worm

it’s yearning to fly

Where can we shout our poems to the stars?

everywhere, everywhere

sing drunk in the streets,

sing sober in the bars,

sing for the song to be singing

and not realize where you are

every one will call you crazy

and stay away

When nothing matters

but the song you’ve found

you’ll be shouting poems to the stars

in all the right places

music will surround you

like god humming in your ear

Where can we shout our poems to the stars?

only there! only there!
